The Pipes Family roots run deep in both Missouri and St. Louis. James Richard Pipes moved his family to Clay County, Missouri in 1884 to begin his life as a farmer. And our ancestor Johann Twillman settled in St. Louis with his family in 1839 and later built the “Old Homestead” on Bellefontaine Road in 1869.

We established the Pipes Family Foundation in 2024 to not only honor the almost 200-year-legacy of those that came before us but to find ways to give back to a community that provided us so much.
The charitable work of the Foundation includes scholarships to the University of Missouri, where multiple generations of our family have attended, as well as other philanthropic work with organizations whose values align with our own.

The Pipes Family Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization (EIN 99-4843734), chartered in the State of Missouri (#N001697683). All donations are tax deductible. You may view our organization’s mission statement, or our profile on GuideStar.
